Huna: the ancient Hawaiian Way of Being
The ancient Hawaiians had an amazing grasp of psychology and spirituality and applied it in their daily lives. They were outstanding practitioners of a psycho-spiritual approach to tapping the vast powers of the mind. Huna means hidden secrets; concealed knowledge or wisdom protected and defended like a treasure. A Kahuna would be the keeper of those secret treasures.
These gentle people lived in a beautiful, peaceful, abundant lifestyle because they knew who they were. They knew that God lived within them and also without, in every atom and molecule of creation. There within all life existed the face of God. Operating from this knowing every facet of life was sacred and revered by them. Their vast understanding of the interconnectedness to all life and the cosmos enabled them to live in harmony with all kingdoms: mineral vegetable and animal. For example when they needed fish for meat they simply stood at the ocean shore and called forth the fish. They knew, as we have heard it said many times that we are all one.
We are connected by aka cords to all of life. These invisible cords connect us to people, places and things. "AKA means mirror, reflection or essence. Many of these cords are divine and pure and play out in our lives as beautiful, harmonious relationships, a strong affinity for a place we reside in or have visited or favorite material things that evoke a strong sense of love and appreciation in us.
Then there are the aka cords of disease and imbalance that connect us to people, places and things. These bring struggle and pain. The uncomfortable experience means that something within is a discord and the illusion of separation is being played out. We are drawing into our physical world the reflection of what is going on within us on the inner spiritual planes.
The ancient ones knew that through a sacred process the diseased cords could be severed, released and transmuted, thus bringing a greater sense of freedom.
You too are here to be free. In the Aquarian age, the idea of managing life or coping with it, is old and outdated. Life is meant to be lived in freedom. As these aka cords are severed you find your self more and more at peace experiencing more harmony and balance. Those situations that used to irritate, enrage or bring depression causing fear and doubt have less power over you and the ability to run your life. It's time to remember the Huna way of life.
